Church

What does it truly mean to be the church? Not the building, not the Sunday service, not the organization, but the living, breathing community of people redeemed by Jesus Christ. This message takes us deep into that question, using the picture of a jazz ensemble to illuminate something profound: the church is at its best when every member plays the part God has given them, listening to one another, knowing when to step forward and when to support. Drawing from Ephesians 2:19-22, we are reminded that we are being built together as a spiritual house, with Christ himself as the cornerstone. Just as the strength of a building lies largely in what is hidden behind the walls, much of what makes the church strong is unseen by people but always seen by God. The faithful prayer, the quiet encouragement, the practical service, the generous giving. Every living stone has a place, and every contribution matters deeply to the King of kings. This is an invitation for us to stop asking what the church can offer us and start asking how God has uniquely equipped us to strengthen what he is building.
