Is It Well With Your Soul? (Part VII)

Nov 10, 2024    Pastor Shawn White

This past Sunday we concluded the series, "Is It Well With Your Soul." But before we dove into the topic of healthy relationships I shared about the importance of the past four to eight years, the election, and the Church's involvement in this world moving forward.

We should long for and pursue the blessings and promises of God, but keep in mind that without the right preparation God's blessings and promises would crush us. I believe these past four to eight years have been preparation for what comes next.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Something that is important to understand is that growing in authority and learning how to overcome, is developed as we go through the wringer. You never grow or mature through comfort. The Kingdom of God is anything but comfortable and yet it is the very first thing we called to seek with our lives. It wasn’t designed to hover above the earth. The rule of God’s Kingdom was not meant to be limited to Heaven itself. The rule of God’s Kingdom was meant to collide here on earth as it is in heaven. This is always accomplished in and through God’s people who recognize that Christ is King.

There has to come a point in your life where God becomes King.

Everything that we have been through over the past four to eight years has proven how important the Church is in this world. It was the mercy of God that Trump was elected president and we certainly didn’t deserve that. A large portion of the "Church" held its tongue and kept silent or went woke on the topics that truly matter for fear of getting "Political." What we are seeing is not a sign of the times but a sign of the condition of the Church. We have now seen where the world would naturally gravitate towards without the leadership and guidance of God's Kingdom. It gets ugly really quickly.

Christ belongs in our government. He belongs in our politics, in our schools, businesses, entertainment. The question we need to keep in mind as we move forward is, “Will the church continue to coast its way through the next four years or will we take dominion and operate in our God given authority as ambassadors of Christ to establish the reign of Heaven in the Earth.

I feel like these past four to eight years were all preparation for what is coming. The past election was kinda like, crossing the finish line. We have been waiting for this moment, and praying and declaring and trying to remain hopefully in spite of all that we were seeing. And now there is victory and those who have common sense are Happy. But I would warn you NOT to take take your foot off of the accelerator now. Don’t stop praying now that we crossed the finish line. Don’t just coast along now.

The reality is... we didn’t cross a finished line we just finished one leg of the journey.

There still a race to run and starting in January there will be a whole new leg of the journey that will begin. Everything that we’ve been through in the past leg of this journey was preparation for what comes next. So don’t let up, give up or shut up! There is the Kingdom of God to establish now and what an opportunity we have been given!
